Maryland PRIMA is pleased to offer a scholarship to attend the 2019 PRIMA Institute in San Diego, California on October 21-25, 2019.

Below you will find the 2019 PI scholarship application requirements.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must be current risk management professionals of a public entity.

  • Applicants’ entity must be a member of National PRIMA and the Maryland PRIMA Chapter by the application deadline.

  • Applicants must demonstrate a financial need.

  • Applicants must complete the 2019 PI Scholarship Application.

  • Applicants must submit an up-to-date copy of their resume.

  • Applicants must submit a 500-word essay. The essay should explain the applicant's interest in attending PI. The essay should specifically address how attending the 2019 PI will enhance the applicant's career as a public risk management professional. Applicants may submit the essay via a Microsoft Word document or a PDF document.


PI Scholarship applications should be sent to the Maryland PRIMA Board at President@marylandprima.com, with the subject line, PRIMA Institute 2019 Scholarship.


The Scholarship covers the following costs:

  • Early Member Registration for 3-days of the 5-day conference, which includes continental breakfast, breaks and lunch daily in addition to the Monday and Wednesday networking events. 

  • Up to $500 Stipend for Airfare

  • Cost for Hotel


Costs not covered:

      Airport Parking, Taxis/Ubers/etc., Mileage, any meals not covered by the PI Registration


One scholarship will be awarded. The recipient will be announced on or before August 15th.
